Downtown Greensburg Development Corporation

DGDC Mission Statement

To enhance and educate our community by preserving the heritage and fostering the development of Downtown Greensburg.

 

The Downtown Greensburg Development Corporation Articles of Incorporation were certified on September 18, 1985. The Corporation attorney of record was Margaret A. Polanski, Greensburg, Indiana. The initial Board of Directors was composed of 13 members. Current by-laws, dated April 14, 2003, allow for at least 7 and no greater than 15 directors. The current board has eleven directors.

The primary purposes of the Downtown Greensburg Development Corporation are to promote economic growth and development in the City of Greensburg and in Decatur County; to expand employment opportunities through economic development; and to provide opportunities for community development, historic preservation, advancement of the arts, and improvement of the community as a whole through economic development.

The Corporation was organized exclusively as a charitable not-for-profit organization under Section 501C(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and the area served by the Corporation is Historic Downtown Greensburg. To date no government funds have ever been received for the operation of the Corporation.
