Christmas Walk 2008 Program

Downtown Greensburg kicks off the Holiday Season on Friday, Nov. 28.

The annual Christmas Walk begins at 6 pm. Parade leaves the City Hall area and goes down Washington Street to deliver Santa to the square.

Parade participants include Carousel Play and Learn Center, Aaron's and the Lucky Dog, Y106, Tree City Fall Festival Queen, Hampton Inn and Suites of Greensburg,ETC, Stone's Farm Service,Superior Auto, Greensburg Police Department, Decatur County Sheriff's Department and the Greensburg Fire Department will end the parade by dropping Santa off!

Downtown Lights are turned on and then Santa moves to the Christmas House, 112 E Washington St. (former Mudhouse Pottery).

Inside the Christmas House kids will meet Santa and commemorate the moment with free pictures. Santa's Workshop is a special store just for kids.


Merchandise is all $5 or less and is provided by donors and area stores such as Stories, Minears, County Supply, Jean and Company, The Hair Factory and more. Also, kids can get Hot Cocoa and cookies as well as participate in crafts and games. Paint Your Pottery is also available.

Ponderosa is providing coupons for FREE buffets for kids with adult purchase. Tree County Players will be serenading the attendees prior to the parade's arrival.

Hours on Friday, Nov. 28 are 6-8 pm. Saturday, Nov. 29 11 am to 2 pm and every Friday Night from 4-7 until Christmas.

Other activities in the downtown this season include the Train Show at the First Presbyterian Church on Dec. 13-14. Also, First Baptist Church is performing An Indiana Christmas on Dec. 12-14. And the Decatur County Historical Society Museum is hosting an Open House on Sunday, Dec. 14.

Downtown Greensburg Christmas is sponsored by Downtown Greensburg Development Corporation with the cooperation of the Heart of the Tree City. Christmas Committee members include: Willy Wilhoit, Judy Curd, Angie Mitchell, Linda Langford, Angie Rethlake, Bryan Robbins, and Theresa Schwering.
