DGDC Mission Statement

To enhance and educate our community by preserving the heritage and fostering the development of Downtown Greensburg.

DGDC Supported Projects and Organizations

  • Gazabo
  • Benches for Gazebo
  • Pigeon control, purchased traps and paid for pigeon removal
  • Christmas Walk and Christmas parade
  • Downtown Greensburg Car Show
  • Sponsored tours of local homes as a fundraiser for the DGDC.
  • Sold bricks and built the planters that sit in the corners of the courthouse yard as well as the scripted bricks surrounding them as a fundraising project for the DGDC and to enhance downtown.
  • Tree trimming for the downtown square
  • The DGDC and HOTT City jointly funded the planting of the flowers to showcase the Court House yard this year.
  • The DGDC was responsible for the downtown being placed on the National Historic Register as a historic district.
  • The DGDC was responsible for the last streetscape that was put into place in the downtown. The DGDC incurred a huge debt as pledges that were promised did not come in. Many of the fundraising projects went to pay off that debt.
  • Fall Festival
  • Historical Society
  • Arts and Cultural “Plein Air Paint Out” event
  • Greensburg 150th celebration
  • Alma Taylor MegaGrant

The DGDC welcomes suggestions, ideas and comments from the community. Please contact any DGDC board member.
